She was finished almost a week ago, but I've been busy playing so I haven't had a chance to post the pictures :P The guitar sounds so great. I love the lace sensor hot gold series, but a note to anyone who is thinking about these: get them and put a 500k pot on the high output bridge pickup because it comes out WAY too hot with a 250k and quacks. It sounds so great now though! I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Hi Ryan3985: that is very pretty indeed - congrats!

Now I'm sure you know you can't leave it there. Many questions: please tell us about the neck and body, for starters. I'm presuming they started life as a Lite Ash Strat?

We won't ask about that decal on the headstock...

Instead, can you tell us about the birdseye-look pickguard and back cover, please? Very interesting...

Cheers - C

I would like to say , that is very nice looking.
Not sure I care for the knobs because they don`t do the rest of the guitar justice, thinking Marshall gold amp knobs would look killer, but that`s not a very strat look.

Love the grain on the body and neck.Nice guard and trem cover.
Overall a excellent job.I love seeing these kinda pics of special guitars people have put together.

Is it a 7.5 radius neck ? looks like it in the pics.

The body is a heavy ash, it is a collector series fender body (the serial number for the body is the serial number I used on the headstock). The neck is a mighty might birdseye maple with abalone dot markers and walnut skunk stripe. I was really suprised how good the neck/fretboard are considering I had heard mighty might was not the top of the line, but I think this neck is definitely top of the line.

As for the headstock decal, we've all seen the debate, and for me this is purely for looks and since this guitar will never leave me, I dont think there is anything wrong with the decal. I would NEVER sell this guitar, and you can see from the neckplate that this guitar is specifically for myself only

The pickguard and back cover are three ply with real birdseye maple wood veneer on the top, blue pearloid on the bottom. I finished the pickguard myself and I'm really happy with the way that they turned out.

All hardware on the guiatr is gold, even the pickguard screws and 5-way switch tip.

I had been collecting pieces for this guitar for the past 5 years believe it ot not, and now that it's finally finished it really exciting for me to finally play it! As of right now my favorite 5-way switch postions are #'s 1 and 2, the neck and the neck/middle combo. The #2 postition has an uncanny tube sound to it, even though I am playing through a crappy solid state laney amp, so that is pretty interesting.

Any other questions just fire away, Id be happy to answer!

Very nice. Not usually a fan of gold hardware, but it looks really good on yours!!

Don't sweat it Callen! Build will get to be fun when you know how to properly plan them. The trick is not to rush it!

Amazing looking guitar Ryan! those guards are among the most beautiful i've ever seen! The neck is reather impressive as well. I was suprised to read it was a mighty mite.

One of the most beautiful guitars that I've seen in a long time.

I would order a birdseye pickguard if you decided to manufacture them. That is a gorgeous axe, and also one of a kind. I am liking the pg a lot!

Hi again Ryan: ah, that explains the black truss rod entrance.

Yes, I've sometimes heard Mighty Mite being dissed, but the two I've come across were nice necks. And that is a very handsome piece of birdseye and no mistake! The skunk stripe was confusing me when I thought it was a Fender Lite Ash Strat neck, because (on my screen) it almost looks like ebony. I know you say it's walnut but - I wonder...? Nice, either way.

Did I understand right - are you saying you made the pickguard yourself? That is seriously well done, if so. Congrats on that. If I misunderstood and you in fact bought it, then I bet some folks would like to know where.

Only one thing bothering me: can you fit some gold pickup screws, please? Here's some (assuming they are compatible with Sensors):

Again, congrats - C
