You're talking a huge price difference here. If money is not an object, I would get the American Deluxe. You should try both to see which one you like. I, personally, don't like the Highway Ones.

I believe all US models serial #'s start with Zxxxxxx. Whereas, the Mexicans start with MZxxxxxx.

Welcome to the Forum. If money was not a deciding factor, I say play both and see which one you like better (big deciding factor is always personal choice). The Highway 1 is good, no frills Stratocaster and I am very satisified with mine. However, I'd get the American Deluxe if my budget allowed for it.

There is also the aesthetic appeal of the highway1. Big headstock, vintage trem and matt nitro finish. If those are two of the qualities your looking for its a far more affordable option than the AVRI's or time-machine.

Hello Fender 393,

Firstly welcome to this Forum.

Well you've chosen 2 models that are pretty far apart
both in cost and features. I can't see the paralell of the two
so let us consider any Fender Strat.

Go out and get youself a Custom Classsic Stratocaster.

How about hotrod series axe? I like em.

Didn't run out of cash yet, '56, '60,'66, or'69 Strat, these are real nice.

If you have more cash and a bit of time the Custom Shop
will work with you to make te guitar of your dreams.

Keep us posted on a purchase & don't forget the photo's

Cheers.
