HI, I'M GONNA GET A STANDARD STRATOCASTER FROM MY UNCLE (IS A 1998 STANDARD STRAT WITH MAPLE NECK MADE IN CORONA, CALIFORNIA)
HERE IS THE PROBLEM: I'M LEFT AND I LEARNED TO PLAY AS LEFT SO I GOT TO TURN THE GUITAR (IT IS A RIGHT HANDED ONE) AND CHANGE THE STRINGS. (AS JIMI HENDRIX DID IT) I WILL HAVE LESS NECK TO PLAY (I DONT MIND) BUT WHAT I REALLY WANT TO KNOW IS IF I HAVE TO CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE OR DO SOMETHING TO AVOID PROBLEMS THAT THIS UNUSUAL CHANGE COULD BRING.

I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP.

REGARDS
MARTIN

Welcome to the Forum.

Personally I would have the Nut changed too.

I tried playing a lefty Strat righty one time. It wasn't very comfortable, the controls were right where your arm should go. You'd have to used to playing more towards the bridge.

You may want to move a strap button too.

Yes! Nut and strap button but also maybe pickups. You don't have to switch them out or anything, just flip them 180 degrees if you can. Some pickups are designed to specially pickup the low, mid, and high strings so flipping them around would keep the tonal balance correct.

You could probably try it out first though. Who knows? You may like the way it sounds with the pickups "upside down"

For the correct "Hendrix Vibe" do not try to rotate the pickups.

Very True. Again it all out, it doesn't hurt . One of my strats has the middle pickup rotated and it sounds quite interesting when using an overdrive. Kinda of an Eric Clapton "Layla" tone on the "2(bridge and middle)" position on the switch.
