That is serious gas ... but then I can remember the day I came home with two "new" (okay Used) Strats ...

yea I bet those were vintage strats huh? I would like one day say that I found an actual 60s vintage strat and take it home and post pics of it here in the forum. One day.... :P

Yes   The guitars I came home with that day are now considered vintage ... and worth a heck of a lot more than I paid for them -- as I understand it!

Dude I know what you mean but when they go on sale like the ones you got, it's tough to turn it down. I did the same thing and pulled the trigger on the MF Fender Friday deal today.
Well, that $299 for that MIM Standard STrat in the popular white with maple is dead deal.

I was just informed that Fender actually authorize these price drops. I like getting great deals, but I'm beginning to get a little concern. I hope Fender is doing OK. I sure don't want them to be the next victim of the bad economy. :(

Well, I wouldn't worry about Fender. They reacted to the economic realities by countering their ill-advised price increase with price reductions (to the dealers, it seems like) and their rebate program. Personally, I think Fender knows what they're doing and they've got a great set of products to keep them viable through hard times...

Geez, I sure hope the Fender Friday specials promotion stays around for awhile...

I could actualy smell the guitar through the screen.lol Beautiful. I know what you mean about the GAS attack as I am still in the middle of the worst one I ever had. I really blame it on the fact I have not played in 18 months and my surgery is on the back burner now that my mother in law has stage 4 cancer and everything is in disaray here since she lives with me. But I must say I dont regret one ax I bought as I have gotten the best buys in my life and with the help of God when I get back to playing in a few months it is going to be a love fest .And my sons have enough gear for my grand kids to start bands and I also look at it as a good investment. They are high end axes but nothing crazy like that vintage gear but they will one day bring a nice return but not for me because it would be like me selling one of my kids.

From my understanding, the price was good only for that weekend, but I'm sure you can still get that price if you ask.

Yea, I know. California probably has the highest sales tax  But, it was good thing I was able to get 10% off the 994 to make up for the sales tax and to pay less than $1000 out the door :D
