Thought you might find these shots interesting...I brought a picture of Eric Clapton's outrageous "Crash 3" Stratocaster (my personal favorite) to a local tattoo artist here in Ft Lauderdale and had it tattoo"d onto my arm. This is the third of five that were done for Eric prior to the 50 pieces commissioned by Fender.

I got in touch with "Crash" (John Crash Matos) The extraordinary artist that did these killer Strat's with Todd Krause from Fender's Custom Shop. He was a super great guy to speak with, and graciously autographed some shots for me. Hope you enjoy them!

In about a month or two, I will have had my #1 strat tattooed on my right tricep. 1989 Strat plus, see-thru balck burst finish w/ maple neck. I imagine it is going to hurt like hell. I'll post pix when it's done.

jromanov, how much did your cost in the end? Yours looks to be about the same size I'm shooting for.

It cost $250.00 to have it done which was a real good number...took about 2 1/2 hours, and really wasn't that bad. Just keep telling yourself how killer it will be when it's done. Takes about 4 weeks to heal completely and its pretty easy to take care of. Have fun!

I keep coming back to this thread to see some female Strat "tramp stamps". So far, I have been very disappointed ...

Awesome...That is pretty much exactly the amount of $ i figured it would be. Yeah, the longest I have ever had to sit getting tattooed was about 40 minutes. Yes, the After thought is what gets me though.

They don't hurt!!!! Once you past the first couple minutes the next three hours are a breeze!!!! I have thousands of dollars of art work on me!!!! So far that is.

The hurt thing...very subjective...for some like you... and I have also about 14 sittings, we don't find it to be too bad, but I have seen people at the shop cry, quit in the middle of a piece, pass out cold, change beautiful layouts into bees and butterflies because they just cant take how much "It Hurts"...kinda like the dentist...some people have their teeth drilled without Novocain, but I'd prefer they knocked me out even for a cleaning. Just can't take the dentist but would go back to the Tat shop anytime. PAIN ...a personal thing

Hey Strat O Tats...

I've been working on the artwork for my first Tat in 18 yrs (Got one while in the Army)- I want my faithful Strat inked on me but I really want to do something unique -

As for the dentist- My oral hygenist has beautiful green eyes- She is a goddess and I just look at her flowing red hair and ocean green eyes and I melt....Hey...I think I am due for a cleaning.....

Not exactly a Strat tat but up top you can see the Fender logo. On my left bicep I have SRV from the Instep LP cover. I don't have a pic but I'll have to get one sometime.

Nice piece. Jromanov summed it up well. Different people have have different pain threshholds. I had 7 pieces done in 2 months last year so I guess we can say midlife crisis as I was the only one of my friends that was clean. Everyone was covered by the time they were 20. The good thing is theirs are all faded and mine will still look good if I am around in my 70s.Now they all want to go get them redone .
