Anyone want to comment on the how the pups sound in the standard strat? Iheard they have been upgraded.

I had one four years ago and found them to be muddy. They did have a nice thick sound with distortion but very dull and muddy clean.

They sound ok, but for $299 shipped you can't go wrong. The $200 you saved would be enough to purchase a set of CS69 or Texas Specials and some change left over.

I ordered a Tele. I was hoping they would have either the standard or road worn cheap today. I lucked out. Kinda pissed I just paid 499 for my standard Strat last month, though.

I just called. It was only for the Arctic White Strats and Teles. They only have the strats available now. I didn't ask if they are rw or maple though. I'm still thinking about doing this...............

Edit: It's maple, and I got it.

I got my MIM Standard for $350 new in 2005! It's a 2004, and it sounds pretty good even without any upgrades. Eventually I will change the pickups, but the stock pickups aren't that bad.

Yeah just arctic white. Which is fine by me. Just kinda sucks that I got an Arctic White Standard Strat just last month for $499. I could have gotten both the Tele and Strat this month for $598. Just glad I got my order in when they still had Tele's. I was actually going to start looking for a cheap used Tele to start a Tele project. No need to look used when you can get a brand new one for $299. As for the stock Strat pickups... They aren't terrible and are improved this year. They don't have a damn thing on the Fralins I put in it though. I think the tele will get some BKP's.

I have to stop looking at these fridays deal threads.I am tempted to last minute order a tele and upgrade the pups. And play the crap out of it.Arctic White is cool anyway.
