Play something like this on your 21 fret.

e|-------22-------22-------22-------22-------22-|
B|-22b24----22b24----22b24----22b24----22b24----|
G|----------------------------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------------|
A|----------------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------------|

I voted 21. All the original Strats came with 21 and it has always worked for me (not to mention it worked for Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan).

That's right, I dropped both the Jimi AND the SRV cards on this one!

I have a lot of gutars you just adjust to the one your playing  all fender guitars 25.5 scale still have all the frets spaced the same the only difference is that 22nd fret to slighty extend fingerboard at the heel. I have no problem playing any of My Fenders with either. Not that I am hanging out at the 22'nd fret alot. When people say you got to one over the other thats a joke  and if more is better then they all would be 24 frets like the HM Strat.!!!!

I have a 21 and a 22 fret guitar. I have even owned 24 fret guitars before. I find I do not visit past 21st fret very often. 21 is plenty, but like 22 frets also. Anything past that make my dogs howel anyways.

What if I prefer 27 frets I didn't see that option :)

But seriously I have quite a variety of guitars so on the Strat I could care less that I only have 21.
