I just saw this on the local CL and had to say 'Huh?'

http://sacramento.craigslist.org/msg/1320961998.html

Funny thing is they make no mention of any modifications, just like this is your run-of-the-mill Strat.

Hello Strato,

Thanks for that link,
I'm still laughing.

I wonder what the three tiny holes
north of the bridge were for.

Cheers.

That is disturbing ... It kinda looks like that funky shaped Ovation electric from the '70s. Remember that one?

Those are "tone holes."

I've occasionally looked at the curves of a Strat and wondered what it would look like without that horn on the right. Now I know. I can't decide whether I like it or not. :?

I had one of those, a Deacon (the upscale one with the mahogany body). Awesome player, but really weird active electronics. "Bloody comfortable," as STeve Marriot said in the ads.

Here's the best pic I could find of Russ Ballard's oddbal Strat with all the holes cut out around the upper edge. I thought iwas cool when I was a kid, and had at leasta c ouple of guys tell me it was to "improve the tone."
