OK I just got my first Fender- I've posted the pic a couple of times in other threads. It's a 2003 70's ReIssue MIM, ash body, natural finish, maple fingerboard. Only thing I would like to change is the pickguard and trem backplate -they are the standard white. I'm thinking of going with either white pearl or tortoise shell. Which do you all think would look better? Does anyone out there have either this guitar or a natural finish one with either of these pickguard colors?
I'm really hard pressed to make a decision- they both look great.... help! :D
Here's the guitar

I think the Tortois shell would look great.

A great way to experiment with the look of your guitar is the Kisekae Virtual Guitar modeler: http://www.nymphusa.com/kisekae/kisekaeE1.asp
You can model your guitar as it is now, then try out different pickguard materials (or anything else for that matter) to see what you like.

I had one like that and I kept the white guard, but swapped out the pup covers for black ones. Nice looking natural ash finish ! 8)
