In my never ending quest to find the strange ones in the world of Strats, I have found a new one
a 1985-86 Fender Japan Contemporary Stratocaster HH in a cool silver/green metallic finish. It is a players guitar, so it shows some wear and tear, but it is all original and plays really well. I always did gravitate toward the unusual, and this fits in with that theme.
it has the system ! tremelo, which seems okay except that I am missing some parts to it( saddle screw, trem arm, fine tuners). Where in the world do I find parts for this tremelo?Image

Hello Paisley Strat,

Nice looking guitar you got there,
I like the color/pickguard combination.

A local machine shop may be able to fabricate
the parts you need, might not be too cheap.

Best of luck with that beauty.

Cheers.

Hey, Paisley, I have one, and I think BIGJAY does as well.

Check this link:

Here's a pic of mine, an "unknown"

Nice Guitar. The trem and bridge look like the same system that's on the 80's squier strats, but I don't know you would find it in black.

They might of had them in black on those Fender STRAT guitars that were more for heavy metal. But those might of been Floyd Rose systems.

Good luck

The parts you need are most likely metric. The screws shouldn't be too hard to find if you have a place that carries both metric and standard(imperial, whatever you call it where you are.)

If it were my guitar I would probably order from: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_ta ... parts.html and just get 1 of whichever i need, and see if they fit. Trem arm, try get someone here who has one to post a pic.

maybe someone here who has one , and has some good calipers can measure the screws, and fine tuners for you, as well.

Thanks for all the help. Wammiworld looks like the place to get all the things I need. Problem is, all the pieces for the system 1 tremelo I need are going to cost almost $100!!! I have the guitar set up as a hardtail now, and it plays great, so I will have to decide if I want to go thru the expense. I don't use the tremelo much, so it is not a huge deal to me, but I do like a completely stock guitar.
One problem is the wammiworld trem arm requires drilling out the holes in the trem block for a retro-fit arm. I don't want to drill out the holes, so where do I get a Fender/Schaller arm that came stock??

Can't help you on the trem arm. Can't even really say that Wammeworld is the best/cheapest part provider for those System 1s, but it is the only place I've seen have any parts with any consistency. You might be able to find individual parts here and there on eBay or with NOS part dealers who may rotate some in and out of their inventory, but both of those scenarios are usually few and far between.

Very Cool. Gotta love those 80's MIJ's.

Perhaps they can help you here: http://schaller-guitarparts.de/hp762/Produkte.htm
