So I went shopping this weekend. I did not pull the trigger on it yet... but heres what I have learned.
I played a couple deluxes, and 3 custom shops. I prefered the cs's in general. I really liked the cs 52, which had a huge slab maple neck. Very cool neck, great feeling guitar overall, but the sound was a bit muddy for my taste. I eventually found a cs 56 in oly white with maple fboard. The neck dimensions, and pickup design was all 56 spec. This blew all the others out of the water. But... it is almost the price of a les paul standard. I have always had a thing for lesters, but have never been able to afford the real one, and have therefore never teased the thought of owning one.
So now I have a whole new decision. 2 strats, or a strat and a lester?
I am now admittedly dangerously out of this forum's jurisdiction being strat specific, so I am leaving you here. More confused than ever now. I have played les paul's, and I don't like the feel of the studio's, or robot, but the standard has a nice neck.
