Saw this on Ebay. I initially thought the seller was selling it as a Jimmie Vaughn Strat. He says this is the first year they were made back in 1982? According to Fender they didn't introduce this guitar until 1997.

But maybe JV means something else?

Yes, I believe it means Japanese Vintage.
