it´s been a long time since i wrote something in the forum. Well, here it´s a somekind sad/happy history.
a few years ago i bought a Fender Stratocaster "foto flame" ´62 Ri (1995/6). I must say his colour was amazing (natural finish). You can see the wood (i suppose the body was adler with mapple cap and the neck was mappe/rosewood). an amazing vintage correct guitar. with the time i swap the original mics with some "texas special". The guitar really can burn anything---everybody says "your next guitar must be american."
I play a lot of guitars in those last years. From my hands pass a epiphone special II (korea ´94), Squier Affinity (malasia?), Another epiphone LP (china...), Ibanez (korea 04), Fender MIM std (´02) and this MIJ. I must say i´m almost an asian guitar user...hahahaha. I try everytime i bought a guitar don´t lose money (but most of the times i lost money---douh!). Because i live in a country that buy a "good" guitar it´s almost a miracle (and a lot of $$$). So you must sale your guitar to buy your next baby. So i have the chance and sale my dear "japanese" friend to buy my new axe...a "blonde" highway 1 upgraded strat. I feel that i was saying goodbye to an old love...and trying to find myself in this new babe. I know this is the logical next step. but...call me romantic...sometimes you must leave something behind to move on. Sorry for my english and thanks!

Wow that was a nice guitar. I am not sure I could have parted with that. I would have just kept saving a little longer for the next one. I also hope that your old baby has a good home.

I hope you are happy with the Highway 1. I own a '07 Stratocaster Sunburst SSS (about to be a HSS) Highway 1. I know I loved the way mine plays, and the tones I get from the Middle and Neck pickups are great. Initially I loved the tones from all the pickups; however, over time I was not getting the tones I wanted from the bridge pickup, but I am about to remedy that.

Once you can, please post pics of your new baby.

Thanks RK, well i always keep my guitars better than me...hahahaha. The fact is i try to keep his "spirit" the best i can. I wish his new owner keep her very well. She is an amazing piece of work.
The first time i play the highway 1 i feel like i was cheating a girlfriend...hahaha--- But i must say i have big hands because i´m tall (6´3"). So my old guitar had a small/medium frets (and a "C" neck with a 7" radius...) and sometimes was a little harder make some "chords". Now with this jumbo frets feels like butter.
the body finish it´s amazing ("blonde" with rosewood) but i must have a lot of care with this "thin" nitro finish. i hope the paint will go out with the time and not for a fall...
i will post new pics soon of my new "blonde" babe.
