Ah, this is just what happens any time you get a bunch of men together and they find a variable — however trifling — that they can spend money on or otherwise tinker with to impress each other... you know how it is... :)

Hi mondo - that made me laugh! Could be said of SO MUCH of what we do here!

Cheers - C

PS: Deeply ****** retentive of me, but how did you write an m-dash ( — ) in your post? Is your keyboard different than mine? I can't do that without copying over from MS Word...

I've been using two hyphens ( -- ) in place of an em dash in the hope that they'd join together... sometimes they do, but not on this board. Often when I post I'm on a work PC, but at home I have a Mac where the requisite combination is Shift+Option+hyphen. I don't know if it comes from the Mac's history with desktop publishing, but the keyboard shortcuts for useful punctuation are much friendlier. I don't even know how to go about it on this PC... seems like there's a lot of Alt + Function Key of some sort + 4-digit number goin' on.

P.S. "em" is a really handy Scrabble word at the end of a game...

Ha! Keyboard shortcuts: of course - thank you. Dunno how to even find out what the equivalent is on a PC, but...

I wonder if the HTML for an em-dash would work in a post?

– – – . Ooo yes! Not that I can be bothered to be typing that all the time!

This has all been very silly - but I just can't be bothered to go and check what all my cables are. A goodly variety, I expect...

Cheers - C

One of the lifetimes cables I bought for $30.00 died so I had use something just lying around till I got it replaced. It was one of the cheap $5.00 coiled cords like EC used with John Mayall way back when. It worked fine and sounded fine. BTW, it still works. The lifetime cable ended up in the trash.

Hey Strat O Cats-

I have 2 Fender Vintage Voltage cables that I use and they have done we well. They were cheap and they hold up. I link my effects with monsters-

I agree that too much technology can get in the way of your tone. Nothing beets that hot Buttery tone of a Strat.

ProCo Lifelines all the way...Durable, they don't kink and they coil well. They deliver a nice sound and have a lifetime warranty. What more could you want...
