Does anyone have any info on a Limited Edition Fender Stratocaster Mexican made around 2004. It is Oly white gold hardware rosewood neck. Called a Milonga Stratocaster or something like that.

A handful of months ago there was one on the local CL here. Same colors you mentioned. According to the seller it was a FSR of a couple hundred made for the Brazilian market. He was asking 600-650 for it at the time. Don't know if it sold, but it isn't there any longer.

Not exactly the best information, but hopefully it will help you some or give you leads to work on.

To be honest I own one of these guitars. I just can never find anything on the internet about them. He was right 200 of these Stratocasters where made. I sure did not pay that much for it. I paid 510.00 dollars after taxes. That was because I got the wholsale price my good friend is the sales manager at the music store where I bought it at. It also has noiseless pickups. I bought this guitar in Tacoma Wa. So not sure they where made for the Brazillian market or not. Anyhow thanks for the info. If anyone owns one of these guitars I would like to hear your opinion of them. I love mine. Great neck good sounding pickups. I bought this guitar to replace a stolen Gibson ES-347. So went from a 1500 dollar guitar to a 500 dollar guitar and I do not think I will ever go back to a Gibson. Love strats and proud fender owner.

I recall hearing about those, but not any kind of Brazil connection.

I can't seem to come up with any info either. I thought I'd find some on the FDP (thinking that's where I read about them), but my search there came up empty. :?:

That's because it's not "MIlagro," it's "Milonga" !!!

Another dude started a thread in the Lounge:

If you Google it, you'll be reading and looking at pics all day!

I own 2 of these guitar's.From what I am told only 200 made. Was told that the body and neck's were made in America and that guitar's assembled in Mexico. At that time they called them Milonga. Bought one for 499$ and the other for 500. brand spanking new.I love the noiseless pickup's and the neck has a 12''radius.Same as the SRV model. Both guitar's have MZ starting serial number's but DO NOT SAY Made in Mexico. These are absolutely stunning instrument's and I would put them up against anything coming out of the Fender custom shop.I mean anything. They are some of the best playing and sounding strat's I have ever played in my life.Have them set up with Ernie Ball 10 to 46.Everytime I play them at a gig people tell me how great they are.If you know where to get one better snag it fast. You won't find a better deal out there . I have 2 and they cost me less than a grand for both. 8)

The salesman told me he had talked to a fender rep and that is how I got my info about American made Mexican assembled.Which kinda makes sense because like I said there is no Made in Mexico anywhere on the guitars.Just the MZ serial no's.Have not a clue as to why Fender would do that but the way business's run nowaday's it would'nt surprise me.

This one seems to say Made in Mexico right on the headstock:

I bet you can think of a reason or two why the salesman would say that the body and neck were made in American.

Google finds a lot of discussion, but no real solid information on the number of these made (200 or 250?). Musician's Friend still has a page on the guitar, so were they the only retailer of this FSR?

If you search this forum web site, you will find someone has one that has the "CBS" logo (as opposed to the spaghetti logo).

Does yours say Made in Mexico on the front of the headstock? If not, perhaps someone scraped it off. That wouldn't be the first MIM that had that happen.

My Milonga Strat was bought new. It does not say made in Mexico it just has the MZ serial number on back of the Headstock. Pretty sure most info on the internet say that 250 were made. Like I said a great guitar for the price. I did find a private owner trying to sell one for 850.00 dollars. I think he is way over priced. Some have gone for sale as low as 450.00 dollars maybe lower. Maybe the price will go up someday. But I do not care for I am not selling mine. lol

Yeah great guitar's. Like I said the salesman told me body's and neck made in America assembled in Mexico. I don't know why he would lie to me about this and take a chance on losing his fender dealership? How do you like the pickup's. Love mine ,nice no noise at all.
