That's a 60th Anniversary Custom Shop Strat Masterbuilt by Chris Fleming with Artwork by Dave Newman (Only know this because it's on mah Fender Custom Shop Calendar for August ^^). Don't really know where you can get it other than the custom shop or if it turns up used somewhere, and as for cost prob quite a bit <.<

Wow master built strat with artwork by someone else same for case and amp that comes with it. I am going to just take a guess but that will probably run 20 grand. If someone has price please post as I am betting I gave to low of a price-CRAZY.

Hi Varcho, welcome to the Forum.

The picture you posted is from the website of none other than Dave Newman, the artist who put that artwork on the guitar and amp (as Capo said, above). I suggest you send an email to him at his website and ask him what he knows about the whereabouts of the guitar today.

I'm kinda guessing it's not available for sale - and it would be very expensive if it were. But who knows...?

Cheers - C

I saw this Charvel on Ebay going for about $3,500. I wanted to cry. I wanted it so bad!!

That thing is so badass it's sickening!! I mean, it's one thing if something is in the 10k range, and I know there's no possible way I could ever afford it. But this would be one that I'd cough up 3.5k on if I had it. I could save up that much. Just not in a short time.

Pretty cool. That artwork would be pretty easy to do on your own guitar. Any good designer that has a little knowledge of guitars could replicate that good. Well, the body and the headstock. The neck would be trickier so as not to mess the playability up too much distressing it like that.

Other than the fretboard, you could do the rest for less than $40 work of stuff from an arts and crafts store. What the designer would charge you depends on how well you know them and how long it would take them to do this. Rough ball park, if you know a good designer personally and the won't charge you too much, you could do this for around $200 or less total to any guitar you have.

Really???

I would love to do some of my own artwork on a guitar, but I'm always so afraid that I'll f**k up a perfectly good guitar.

I personally wouldn't mess with painting on a fret-board.

I might actually give it a try one of these days. But right now, I'm knee deep in gigs. We've got one coming up this Sat. that's expected to be about 5,000 people.
I guess everyone has that one guitar they would like to have as a collectable or trophy guitar that's just for show. Which is what that would be for me. But it would be more rewarding to have one that I did myself.

I'd have to buy some beater guitar body to mess with though. The only one I have that isn't a neck-through and doesn't have a pickguard is this one:

And I'm not too willing to mess with it. The paint-job is perfect. No dings anywhere.

When you run automotive paint through an airbrush, does it need to be thinned out much? Or at all?
