Hello all. just wanted to say I just bought a RW 50s Strat. This is my second Strat in as few months. Generally I'm not a Strat guy but I fell in love with a daphne blue HWY 1 (H/S/S) Strat and snagged it up.

Well my local shop got the RW Strat in a few weeks back. I fell in love with the look, made the mistake of playing her, now I have her too. Honestly I think the RWs are too pricey but they play and sound so good. I like the RW 10 times more than my HWY 1.

Now I have to get a tube amp. I had a HotRod Deville 410 but it was way too loud for the house, so I'm leaning toward a '57 Champ Reissue or a Valve King 212. Any unbiased suggestions?

I like the VK simply because it can drive my 412 cab.

Yea those road worns are amazing. Got the 60s olympic white strat about a month ago, and ordered another 60s in three tone sunburst.

How much did you get yours for, if you don't mind me asking?

keep your eyes posted on Musiciansfriend.com. Every Friday they have a "Fender Friday Special" where they slash prices on selected fender products at below cost. I got both my road worn for $499 each with free shipping, you could say I got two for the price of one.

Congrats on the guitar. If you are looking for a small tube amp you could do better pricewise than a 57 champ. Some considerations might be Peavey classic 30,Fender blues jr or pro jr, but i would seriously take a look at the Fender Deluxe Reverb and Princeton Reverb.I would check out E-bay and CL. Good luck

My main reason for looking at the Champ, was the smokin' tone at tolerable volumes. But I want something that can drive my big cab too. I think the Peaveys can. Any of the mentioned Fender amps up to the task?

Do a search about extension cabs, i know from what i have heard , all the above mentioned amps can drive a cab.To my knowledge even th 5 watt champion 600 can drive a cab.Everyones situation is different.I have a bassman and a super reverb that i play also at home with no complaints. :o

I looked briefly at the backs of a few Fender amps and didn't see cab outputs, but I will definitely do some research.

Two Road Worns for $499 each. I'm bummed now.

shupe13,

Perhaps, you can have the place your purchased the road worn from to price match the currenty price of the road worn, $749. Yes, it has dropped down today. Check out MF here, http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-RoadWorn-60s-Stratocaster-Electric-Guitar?sku=526796

Those prices are moving targets!

I've never seen a place change prices so often/quickly.

Blink and you'll miss a great price, I guess.
