Hi, I have a question.
I am new to guitars. I love playing them but I dunno what is good and what is bad.
I am looking for a White fender strat? I didnt think they were too expensive but They seem to be. I have a Tom Delonge signiture fender strat and it sounds awesome! I just want a back up guitar. I had a squire which i thought sounded aweful. Can some one please give me a list of good guitars for around $200-$250.
It doesnt have to be fender i just like the look and the sound of the one I have now. Sorry if this doesnt make sense, i cant find the right wording right now lol
I was wanting a Fender Stratocaster with a Dimarzio X2N does anyone know how much that would cost?

I've seen a ton of Made in Mexico strats on craigslist in your price range. Do a search!!

Here's a couple of examples:

Hi blink_me: well, I'm seeing that DiMiarzio available for around $63.71. Why not buy that together with a new pickguard to fit it in, and stick 'em on that Squier? Then it'll sound good, you'll have your backup guitar and still about $150 left in hand to play with.

That's what I'd do.

Cheers - C

+1.

A Strat that sounds really bad is usually one that isn't set up right. Install better pickups, dial in the set-up and it will sound better than fine.

Sounds good, just upgrade your squire its still a Fender, nice neck and feel, I've never really listened to a squire strat before, my mate has a squire tele and that sounds and feels great. Whack the dimazio in it like the previous posters said.

I agree with the above posters, if you do not like the Squier's sound, modify it. It is also a good (cheap) way to get into the world of modifications. Unfortunately you get what you pay for when buying new, check out craigslist and ebay as well for used ones.
