Its a fairly safe bet that our Vin's sniffed a few things in his time.

Vinny, i know what you mean. Nothing beats new guitar smell though.

My AF95 (Ibanez) still has that smell, and I've had it for just over 10 months.
And my G-Dec Jr I bought the same day still looks new--and It's been used a lot.

Hello Blerties Im doing ok thankyou and how are you my kiwi friend. This is a great thread very funny but true, when does the smell go away? probably after a couple of years, also if you gig a lot the smoke and alcohol smells must diminish it or in studios rehersing. Hello to everyone here hope your having a real smelly day hahahahha

Ah c'mon Vin. Marshalls and jock's undies.
Have you never savoured the aroma of 3, ecc83's and 4, el34's?

Stuff stinks like Buddah's weed to me. Fender have never made a smell like it. Not even the 58bassman. 6L6's just dont stink the same.

My absolute favourite smells are (be prepared giving up the smokes has got my nose working like a bloodhounds).

Freshly cut grass.
My missus's hair. (something very appealing about the scent of her long locks)
The peardrop smell of my 57hotrod. (yep 1 year on it still smells).
Coffee.
Butane and other solvents.
One smell i cant abide is fresh bread. I used to think the stuff smelled great. My mate who quit smoking a week before me told me to put my conk in the bag of fresh bread. Not kidding you i nearly threw up.

I have a theory on the new fender amp smell. Fender always bias their valve amps way too hot, new. The heat off the valves in close proximity to a circuit board and all the other components must be giving off the stink.
