Hello all! I just picked this '03 fender strat up for 300 gold hardware and all. Not sure if its a deluxe or not,. that year have the american pickups and electronics? Sounds pretty good buttt!! when i switch the pickups theres a real nice hum on some of positions do I have a bad switch? easy to get to and maybe clean it some?? On positions 1,3,5 it should hum, because they're single coils.

If it's made there, so are the pickups. With a few exceptions of course.

Could be a Deluxe super strat. Picture kind of dark. The pickups would be those super fat single coils which I think were made in Mexico. It would not be a deluxe powerhouse because it would have the noiseless humcancelleing singles.

It's a Strat positions 1,3,5 will hum. Positions 2 and 4 are hum cancelling.

I do have a bugera high gain 120 watt head, I have humbuckers guitars so this is my first single coil guitar on this amp, its sure loud! the clean sounds real good though. i think the deluxe was first made in '04 I believe.
