I have wanted a cool strat for a long time now.I picked this up yesterday.
Alder 2 piece body, with a Genuine Fender replacement neck?No idea who really made it but it is very nice none the less. It`s a Vintage Style Neck 7.25 R. and has a comfy soft V,Skunk stripe, nice vintage amber color.Sounds great and plays fantastic.I played for about 4 hours straight last night had a hard time putting it down.

She also could use some nice staggered locking tuners.

I love her already!

Looks nice. A Fender body?

Got a picture of the back?

If it sounds and plays good it is good.

I remember seeing 2004 or 2006 on either the neck or body or both when it was apart the day I bought it.My buddy seemed puzzled and now that I think about it hinted that it may not be a Original Fender body.
I bet that big red F means it is a replacement body matched to the neck and I just bought a total mongrel.Thing is it is very good quality and still plays and sounds way better than any mexi strat or other strat remotely close to the price I paid. In fact most of the USA Standards I grab and play do not play any nicer or sound any better. Live and learn, kinda takes the thrill of this new purchase away. Guess, I got egg on my face now? It wouldn`t have ever mattered until I visited a forum where people would call me on it.My ignorance was bliss.

Oh heck, I don`t care It looks great and plays great I`m gonna be happy no matter how it turns out.Alot of people have paid good money to put together partscasters that spank one`s with factory Fender on them. I really didn`t have a grand or more to throw at one right now anyway.

That looks like a Mexican trem block. What's the spacing of the strings and the 6 trem mounting screws?

What does it say on the back of the neck?

That looks like a pretty good body.

You'll have to take a peak under the pickguard and maybe even take off the neck to really learn what you have there.

I just measured the trem and the spacing is 2 1/16 or ever so slightly over? ".
Must be Mexi.

If it plays and sounds right i wouldnt give a flying one as to where its made.
What makes a strat? Sound, shape or name on the headstock?

I second all what's been said earlier: If it plays right, sounds good, then it's good! Who cares if it was made by a Jose, a Mike, or a Xhiao? :P

I personally stopped caring about the name after spending the last 3 years fixing high end instruments and being highly disappointed by some of the big name manufacturer's items. Name does not guarantee top quality, it simply guarantees "higher" quality than the rest of the herd, but there's always a percentage of things going slightly off when you have to make thousands a day of each of those instruments, you know?

Thanks guys. It seems to have a upgraded bridge and neck pickup.Part of the reason it sounds so good.I will replace the mini pots and cheap 5 way switch along with the tex mex middle pickup and then I`ll be cooking like I should.I tore it apart to see what was up and copper shielded the control cavity.I have some parts on the way.Body turns out to have a 1994 date in the pocket. For Mex its really pretty nice and is definitely Alder. Must be real early mex? It really sounds good on those two pickups now, so it will only get better. The neck was a big upgrade over any mex also. I`m good. :D
