Maybe someone here can help to "decode" my Strat.

I had an Am. Dlx. HSS Strat with a DH-1 pickup that I ordered in Feb. 2008. The tags on the guitar said as much. It had a bright, almost too shiny tone that really grew on me.

In October of 2008, the shop that I put it into for a setup really messed up the finish and replaced the whole guitar under warranty. While the spec sheet said it had a DH-1 humbucker, there were tags hanging off of the tuning gears that advertised an Enforcer humbucker. The tone was different also, darker, not as bright and thicker, more mellow.

When I had them replace the guitar, I also ordered a different neck. The first guitar had a maple neck, the replacement guitar I requested a Rosewood neck.

I don't dislike the change in tone, but it is noticeable. Is the change in tone and character a difference in the rosewood of the neck, or a difference because the guitar now has an Enforcer humbucker instead of a DH-1?

How would I visibly distinguish between a DH-1 and an Enforcer?

The change from enforcer to dh-1 would probably be a lot more noticeable than maple to rosewood. If the tags hanging off the tuners said enforcers, they're probably enforcers. That plus a rosewood switch would make it sound significantly darker.
