Does anyone know if the HW1 body is made in anything but the HSS form?

I know the HW1 comes in SSS too, but on ebay all I've found is HSS bodies. Maybe all of the bodies are made HSS to save money, even if they're designated for an SSS setup?

If anyone knows of an SSS HW1 body, I WANT it, because I'm having a difficult time finding one. I really hate poly finish, and a HW1 body would be a perfect cheap start to my project.

I have a SSS Highway One. So, yes, they do make the SSS Highway One body.

the h1 are for sale in sss and hss but all of the bodies are routed for hss so if you buy a sss you can always change it to a hss (or vice versa)

That's something that I didn't know. Is that unique to H1s?

I own a black highway 1 and it has three single coil pickups. I think that all American Series Fenders are like that to save money. The American Standerd that the American Series replaced had a "swimming pool" routing.

I wouldn't worry about it. get a highway one body and put whatever pickups you want in it.

I buffed my HWY 1 up, and got all black parts (pick guard and pickup covers). It looks almost like my old '77 Strat. The only difference is that the '77 has the bullet truss rod, a different bridge and a 3 bolt neck.

The bottom line is that the guitar sounds great, plays wonderfully and looks cool.

Good luck!

Well, looks like I'm just gonna pick up a flat black HSS body or something and polish it. It would make my day if an HSS route allowed for enough space to make the bridge pickup reverse angled. Oh well if not....
