Vinny its true that people are buying bodies from the states and shipping them over but anything imported is liable to customs tax which varies depending on what it is, currently anything under £18 isnt charged. Some sellers will even mark down the price of the item on the outer packaging so it doesnt get charged. Gifts dont get charged VAT. If you have a straight laced seller your going to pay roughly 40%

My hotrod is a guitar mate a very nice strat that i treasure so much i bought another similar strat to keep it company.

I think you mean hotrod cars in which case i'll get a photo of the one my bands drummer just built and put it up here.

That could be true... if the goods come in under a certain value and/or weight they might not attract duty. Not sure of the cut-off point. I've never had a problem ordering effect pedal-sized stuff from the US, and I've found a couple of bargains that way... one at US $175 retail for $132 (including shipping - Oz price works out at US $290), another at US $199 retail for $165 shipped (Oz price on that one a whopping US $380). I can't believe that it costs far less than half the Australian price for these items to come from the other side of the planet in a week.

Trauma i dont dislike that strap at all. It was just another case of my unfunny humour not crossing the atlantic very well.

Sorry mate i really didnt mean to cause any offence and i'm very sorry for your loss of your Grandma.

I cant find any football team coloured guitar straps, maybe thats Vinny's next business venture.
P.s Randy Learner who owns the cleavland browns also owns aston villa. I plastered his house at tamworth.

Vinnypop! It's all good nikininja....

Trauma you got it right in your signature mate fightings for barbarians, debate is for kings. Please dont be a fan of mine. Your a peer of mine and certainly within the realms of a internet forum no better or worse. Thankyou for the compliment though.

Now we need our Vin to start the football club team colours guitar strap business.

Vin ever thought of using those plates to make beatles print guitar straps. I reckon they'd sell like hotcakes. If you own the plates then surely the image is your property and can only be used on your say so?

I probably used the wrong word in "fan" but lets call it a mutual admiration. You guys post the nut & bolts of the matter with the humor it usually deserves on an intellectual level that is probably beyond most peoples funny bone.....plus it's just a hell of a lot of fun communicating with someone half way around the world.......
