Found a great natural mahogany body and another nice usa licensed neck
I think this will be the body I experiment with the blonde sunburst effect. What do you guys and gals think of scalloped necks ? I did my first one today on the right side came out great though a lot of work !!!!! How are you all niki twelvebar frantic ceri hopkins blerties manjha orville mondo chanman deadeye big jay cvillerea and all. Spent 3 days on one neck hahahahahah on that time Fender spewed out about 1000 or more. Do you think there are toooooooooo many guitars being sold by Fender and now a lot of people like myself are building our own partscasters, like where will this lead ? I have already seen a drop in Fender prices in Australia this past week. You can score a 2 year old standard sunburst stratocaster for
1300.00 Australian and last year it was around 1700.00 to 1800.00, thats second hand off course a newie costs in Australia around 2700.00 so looks like prices for seconds are dropping. Gibson Les Pauls are retaining their value a lot better but they also have dropped a bit like you can now score a black beauty for 3000.00 Australian if you look hard enough and be patient. Is this the financial crisis causing these lower prices. ?

I have noticed some places in Australia and New Zealand are taking the unusual (perhaps unprecedented?) step of passing along the savings they make from the relative healthiness of our currencies against the greenback at the moment. It's much appreciated, as — like petrol — once musical gear goes up, it seldom seems to come down...

I tried to look for the Vinnypop thread and I had to search hard  Trying to keep this one a floater :)

Mate- our tech company Rakon (who make Navman) said the same thing the other day- Our dollar is soooo volitile against the greenback- and overseas investors are taking advantage of it and then pulling thier money out when it plummets.. They were calling for the government to put a stop to it somehow.. our exporters are having a hard time over here.

I think it's time for an ANZAC currency- and Air New Zealand to merge with Qantas... I cant see why not- our dollar value is similar... we are neighbours. It worked in Europe, I think it could work for Australia and NZ.

Vinny peoplehave been making partscasters for a long long time. it doesn't hurt their sales at all. More often than not the choice isn't partscaster or real Strat, it is usually partscaster or cheap guitar or nothing at all. if you use some real fender parts, like pickups, it is a sale where none would have been.

Sunburst on mahogany? show us how it looks.

Oh, I don't know if I've ever seen such a thing.

I can't imagine that yellow stain on mahogany.

Hello world and blerties woody mondo twelvebar orville and all here sorry was away a little. Working on 3 guitars at the same time , I must be crazy hahahahhahahahaha people have said that before, I just love fiddling with guitars keeps me sane. Yes twelvebar I am hoping that because I always load the guitars I am building with at least the loaded Fender guard that I can sell it. You want Vinny Pop to feed you hahahahhahahaha woody87 ok let me see. All right I was pondering just recently and you know about my UFO encounter and the weird dream abduction ? well what if we really were the only planet in the universe that existed with human life I dont mean organisms or plants. Not neglecting the spiritual world at all just US being the ONLY planet with people like us. is that a frightening thought or does it make you feel more special than you feel. And if that is true then these UFO's are really spiritual carriers maybe.

An X file story lol well sort of check this gang,
A couple of years ago went outside in park to feed some pigeons, they were all over me like a rash begging for bread crumbs and following me like the pied piper hahahahahha. I then threw all the crumbs under a tree and all of a sudden the pigeons about 30 of them stopped eating and dropped on their tummies and froze like statues. I looked at them in shock as I never saw such a thing as if I offended them or maybe the bread crumbs weren't good enough. After 5 minutes I went over to the tree and had a good look and saw all these little ants carrying the bread crumbs under the ground. At that moment I had another epiphany hit me and realised that the pigeons though hungry and ravenous allowed the ants to eat their food.......THATS LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 9 years of doing guitars up I have finally learnt how to spray clear lacquer. Keep the can exactly 30 cm from the guitar, lay the guitar flat not upright. Apply a mist, leave for 30 seconds, apply another 2 mist coats together, leave for 2 minutes, then apply another 2 mist coats and leave for 1 hour before applying the final coat. The secret is , you must have a totally perfectly smooth surface and most importantly keep the can 30 cm away ,dont ever get closer and each coat HAS to be a mist coat, it will slowly build to a proffessional top look and then let dry settle for about 2 days before you touch it.
