Do you all write and record much please tell me how much you write and record and tell me how you record too. It's 2 seperate areas, so tell me how many songs a week, month, year. Do you use full production or just a guitar and voice for demos CD ?. Do any of you go into studios ?....poor studios , with a decent 4 - 24 track digital or analogue portable recorders they must be losing heaps of money. I use a 4 track analogue Yamaha. I found this to be quite adequate for me and have even had stuff from it played on Radio in the past and my whale song was recorded on it and signed up. I believe if you have a good ear and learn a few tricks you can get by without going into a studio. Would love to have a 16 Track digital portable system with those big fat salami looking mikes, the proffessional ones and also a high tech digital delay processor and a top notch compressor to squeeze the sound sometimes.
Well I dont really like squeezing the sound as it can destroy the tone, so it's best to try and record the drums and bass and vocals as clear as possible so you dont need to compress it. I find a compressor is a good emergency device incase you'r too lazy to rerecord your parts again.

Vin i have 7 cd's and a heap of singles recorded with my last band. I left em 3 years ago, am still intouch and mates with em though. We recorded everything at bandwagon studio's in mansfield nottinghamshire. Right in the heart of Robin Hood country.
As far as writing goes i write guitar parts sometimes lyrics, (not often though, my philosophy is that if i havent said all i want to say on the guitar i'm not done. Quite hypocritical of me considering my stance on boring protracted guitar solos). I leave other instrument parts to be composed by their players. They have a far better understanding of them than I. If something just doesnt sound right i'll say but i'm fairly liberal with artistic interpretation.

Before i started playing it was Johnny Ramone. Soon after it was pete green of 60's fkeetwood mac. These days i'm mainly inspired by rockabilly stuff. Though most of my ideas lately seem to be very soft ballady type things.

Phases

A lesson in rejuvenating an acoustic top part with either laquer or spray paint.
I taped up all areas not to be touched after fine sanding back applied the paint the laquer looked fantastic. On removal of tape paint had formed a bond in edges , various places and yes the paint came off and now I have to do repairs again. The answer I have worked out this time is before removing the tape if it is in creases ( outside edges seem to be ok ) get a sharp knife instrument and cut finely in the creases to break the bond created by the paint laquer. We always learn the hard way but now I know the trick. Hahhahahahahah soon I will put little nail holes and stand the bodies up like Fender use to do in the old days and when people buy my guitars they will say
' But has it got the little Vinny Pop nail holes, if not it's a fake ' Pre CBS Fender strats had nail holes about 4 of them to paint and dry the guitar body.
Evidence of refinishing can be seen if the nail holes are filled in.

I feel so knackered doing too much ideas blowing my brain. Miss performing solo and the huggs of women after the concert. I played at a bayside famous hotel once and a group of Americans came in about 4 couples. During the break the 4 ladies mobbed me and kissed me in front of their boyfriends and also video taped me, thankgoodness the American blokes were cool with that and I left in one piece hahahahahhahahahahaha oh Vinny Pop you CADDDDDDDDDDDDD

Just finished my fourth track from the second VP album and a preview is up on my vinnypop youtube channel at the top called Funk Jazz Song One More Time By Vinny Pop. Hahahahahhaha no sexy images of semi clad women this time just a pic of my dad and grandmother in 1927 when Musolini was pumping oil down the throats of bad people and the like.
I think I have ventured into new territory with this one as I have never been a jazz guitarist but have a listen. Mrs Vinny Pop hates this piece why Mrs Vinny Pop hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Ok its story time guys and gals and this week we look inside the week of the poltergeist incident at Vinny Pops house... the former house so if your scared please move on and dont read this chilling story and once again all true.

During the separation of Vinny Pop from his estranged wife, the first wife, Vinny Pop allowed all these people to move into his home. Each night was a festive party of sex drugs and dramas. Vinny Pop at this stage was entering the enlightened period of his life but at the same time all these people living in his home were creating a lot of havoc. That week was sparked by the Kiwi brunette and her boyfriend, she let off an amazing scream at him after they had sex and all of us saw the lights in the living room flicker. We immdiately freaked because of her and toked into another cone as Vinny Pop played and sang for the loafers he had invited into his home , well some of them some were very nice people. Then the weird and irrepressable Gregory who suffered some sort of mental illness asked Vinny Pop to baptise him as he knew VO had commenced to study the Word. Upon dunking him in the bathtub that night Gregories head began to swell up like a lightbulb. The whole house saw it and we feared his head would blow. The next day he was taken to the doctor who had never seen such a thing and believed it was an alergic reation. Gregory refused treatment and on returning home he told VP ''Vinny you took the devil out of me its ok dont be afraid'' that same day his head began to go down so it was 2 days or a light bulb head in the house. The smoko went quickly during those 2 days. The thirds and final incident that week involved all of us meeting Mr X the huge blackman who saved VPs life when Vinny saved the man being beaten by bikies. We were all sitting around the VP table playing drinking and smoking when all of a sudden the entire stuff behind us on the mantle piece just up above was wiped off as if a hand smacked it all over the place and it fell everywhere. VP had a large beautiful Shepherd Doberman in those days , he got the dog his wife got the cat. But Princess protected VP with her life and I was surrounded by things and people and happenings I have never seen before. The house was sold 4 months later and I moved in with my parents in 1988.

Twaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!
I was a little devil when I was a teenager at school and invented this word twaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. My mates loved it and I started yelling it from buses at the school girls and eveyone and they would get such a shock.
Im so sorry to everyone I nearly made wet their pants when I yelled that silly word out. Its all peer group pressure and horrible.

Twaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brb just having a coffee and looking at my parts caster, have applied the neck nice fit and also gold fittings last night looks cool. Need to solder the input jack now and ground the earth in back and buy strings. Hope to have it up soon. Twaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!! its so addictive.

So the poltergeist made "the entire stuff behind us on the mantle piece just up above was wiped off as if a hand smacked it all over the place and it fell everywhere" ??

How much stuff? Did it freak everyone out?

No ghostly aparitions? No voices or chains rattling?

Pretty mild stuff.
