I think he did its real sexy and curved like a lady I know it also came from the precision bass and is virtually an exact smaller copy of it. The Les Paul is classy but doesnt have the female shape so maybe I am right what do you think or am I overtly and sexually frustrated blaaaaaaaaaaaa

Leo Fender in mind designed the strat to improve the telecaster. The curvy contours of the strat was in response from players complaining about how uncomfortable the tele was.

This may sound stupid but didnt george also help with the design as well? Im only asking because they made G&L guitars as well

Geprge Fullerton in many ways was more responsible for the strat than Leo Fender. The body/headstock design owes more to George. I believe it was he who questioned players about improvement. The electronics were all leo if i'm not mistaken.

There is a really excellent photo in 'think The Stratocaster Chronicles, where a photo of a lady is beside a couple Strats. There ARE parallel curves.

But same has been said of the violin family and traditional flat-top guitar. Who knows what goes on in the subconscious of Earthlings...?

Many things marketed toward a predominently male market come shaped like a lady. I would not be surprized at all. Remember the old Michelob beer bottles? They were purposely shaped with the femine curves too.

You may be suffering an anxiety disorder arising out of the '53 Stratocaster controversy and having delusions of grandeur in this matter. :?

The shape of a Startocaster is just a thing of the 50's design fad. Look at the products from the 50's with there points and space age looks , curves ect.ect. I don't think there was anything scientific about the basic design other the the belly cut and forearm being adapted to comfort.

If my missus looked like a strat i'd seriously consider ditching her. Think about it.

Weird shaped head with bits sticking out of the one side.
Super elongated neck of ET proportions.
Arms permanently pointing up.
3 bits of plastic where the chest and bountiful pleasures should be.
A rear end wider than her shoulders, considering the skyward arms.
No legs or feet.

Sounds like some kind of victorian circus exhibition to me.

It appears to be a French curve disorder with a Mobius complex overlay. 8)

Fenderseeker, I do try to entertain. Incidentaly that quote is it from the doors of perception or the book Huxely wrote after it? Its been nigh on 20 years since i read any of his stuff. It certainly helped me understand why i was enjoying myself so much as a teen.
