I am not a huge Line 6 fan but some forum folks are. GC has some of their Line 6's on sale right now. Can get a Line 6 Spider III 30W for $150.

vinny,
Two 15 watt amps give you two 15 watt amps, not 30 watts. It don't work that way. 30 watts isn't twice as loud as 15 either. He should just get a used 30 watt amp. You can find them for the cash he has.

Exactly, if i were in the market for a 30 watt amp, a Peavey classic 30 would be had for cheap enough.Sometimes a Classic 20 shows up on fleabay too.

I wondered when someone was going to call him on that.

The Peavey Classic 30's aren't bad amps. A bit more reliable then any of the Hot Rod series and cheap as candy used. The Classicc 30 isn't unique, but a workhorse with potential. A Peavey Delta 30 with a 15" speaker is actually pretty sweet too.

flanker35, somebody had to call him on it. I get plenty of flack so I figure I might as well. That statement about the 30 watts from two 15 watt amps is just plain wrong. :?

+1 I have one and I really like it, check out the site:

Fender, Vox, Crate, Marshall, and Spyder all make good amps as well.

Another vote for the 15w Fender Super Champ XD...versatile and great clean tone.

For $199 you can get a new 5w Vibro Champ...its like the little brother of the Super Champ. I haven't specifically tried one but it has the same amp models (but lacks the clean channel) as the Super Champ that I liked enough to buy! ;)

The Vox VT30 looks like a great suggestion too, but I've never tried one of those.

Good luck!

Another vote for the Roland Cubes. I got a Cube 30x for around $250.00 It's great for the bedroom (at about 3! I't gets plenty loud, too! ) , and it has some neat effects built in. Not sure quite how accurate the modeling is of all the amps it claims to model, but there's definitely some great sounds on a bunch of the settings. Comes with a handy built in tuner, too!

I'm sure I will probably get flamed for this, but I have a Line6 Spider 3 and really like it.

They are good practice amps, but the presets really aren't that good.

I would suggest the Super Champ XD or a Vox VT30. Both are really versatile and sound pretty good.
