The best sound and value for money is to get 2 15 watt fenders slave them together a total of 30 watts for around 200 dollars and they kick $@! and rock I have a 15 watt fender which I slave to my ac30 watt top boost vox.

Best sounding amp for the money just to kick around is the VOX VT30.

If you have $200 to $250 I would say a Vox VT 30 or a used VT50 or something like that..They have really good modeling of the Vox AC30 and IMHO a very passable tone of the Fender Twin..
If you could manage to save another $50 to $75...You could look around and get yourself a used USA made Fender Blues JR ..which is a 15 watt 100% tube amp...You will need pedals for heavy stuff but they are fantastic sounding amps..
If you want a bedroom practice amp for $150 you can get one of those Fender 600 Champs which are excellent sounding pure tube 5 watt amps..Im totally impressed by these little amps for there great sound .. Even though i have 2 marshall 1 vox and 3 Fender amps.. I have no doubt that this little dude will soon become my bedroom practice amp..

It might be a stretch for your budget, but I would say a used Pro Junior is right up your alley. These little suckers are powerful enough to use onstage and yet reasonable for home use; they're significantly louder than either the Epi VJ or the Champion 600, and they sound better too. The added bonus of a tone control makes it easy to get good sound out of single- and humbucker-equipped guitars. I am, of course, biased because I own one and love it to death. Best little tube combo ever.

i think you get what you pay for ...

if you want something at around 200 look for something used maybe on ebay becuase if you buy it new 200 isnt getting you anything good.

Hey Hillbilly.....why dont you tell us what kind of guitar youre playing and what kind of music you play? I might impact amp advice.
This is why I suggested the Vox VT30 as it is so versatile it tailors to many different types of playing styles. Jeff Beck even uses this amp to warm up in his dressing room.
