I concede, Jay. Arguing on the internet is stupid. You win brother. I like fried chicken and my strats as much as anybody on this board, but you obviosly inherited the right to proclaim as you see fit. Here's to you, Pat

Quiet Riot didn't where makeup, but they were still in the glam scene. And when it comes to glam, I tend to agree with Dave Mustaine's point of view:

Glam=G4y L.A. Metal (Had to use a 4 instead of an a)<_<

Isnt Dave Mustaine STILL getting over the fact that he was booted from Metallica?

Henry Garza from los lonely boys can play the piss out of a strat. I would vote yes for a Garza strat.

Yes, Wood, you are correct. It is the only thing he knows. Guitars. It really comes naturally for him. Believe it or not, all three bros don't even read music. It just comes out of him like an emotion or something. Check this out...

It is called "End of a new beginning". You really have to watch the whole thing to appreciate it.

Someone mentioned the Vintage Guitars interview in this thread. I summarized the guitar/rig parts of that interview in a blog post today (link below) because it's pretty interesting. Mick is definitely a Strat guy, and apparently has been for some time. The white Strat he plays on stage is a (90s, I believe) custom shop model that looks like a 70s Strat. But he also plays a bona fide 60s parts Strat on stage (with a Floyd Rose!).

I think sig Strats can only change so much, but since he's a vintage guy a Mick Mars Strat could be interesting.

Cluebomb Freeze: Mick has probably spent more on booze than this forum makes in a year. Hack of not, I'd trade him paychecks.

First of all I don't think anyone should have a "Signature Series" guitar. All it does is let the manufacturer charge more money for the same guitar just because it has someones name on it. Second if your a player why would you ever want to play a guitar with some icons name on it? Way poserish. If your a collector maybe it would be fun to have a bunch of signature pieces but thats about it. Fender makes a boatload of first class Strats that are a pleasure to play, beautifully built, and great sounding. The "Signature guy's" were playing these long before Fender capitalized on them by putting a bunch of names on them and getting people to cough up the extra bucks for them. I personally have a fairly large collection of 30 plus pieces and several of them are Strats & Tele's. My "go to" daily player is an American Deluxe Strat in Montego Black (maple neck) and it is about as nice as anything I have ever played. So quit it with the "Signature" stuff. And PS John Mayer knows how to handle a Strat...just about as good as anyone....He is a first class musician with extraordinary playing talent.

Best guitar Fender has ever made. The custom shops are of no better quality next to that guitar! I like to call it the "Joelski Signature Edition Stratocaster" :mrgreen:

John Mayer?? Are you kidding me? Maybe not to you, but he has had huge impact on the guitar community. HUGE. As for Corgan, he made much more of an impact as an amazing songwriter and artist than a guitar player. And Avril, she can defend herself ... I am not a fan.

I didn't read all the post but yeah I liked to see him have his own strat. He's a great player, he had some sweet kramers back in the day and when i saw him on cable I thought hmm he's playing fender now and Pete Townsend of the who I see is also playing strats. I dont know if he would back in the day cause Jimi was playing them.
