I forget if this was already discussed but do you think Mick Mars deserves his own strat. I would buy the guitar in a heartbeat. he has been playing strats basically his whole career the guy deserves one just my opinion though.

I don't think so, I seem to recalll him playing Les Pauls and different Kramer's even a flying V.

Lets not forget that whole BC Rich Warlock thing he played on Too Fast for Love and Shout At The Devil. But he does play and have a really cool Fender collection. Lets not forget he is a really good guitarist as well and lets see FAMOUS.

Yeah in one of the Shout At Devil song videos had him and Nikki Sixx playing BC Rich's. I cannot remember which song, but the image is in my head.

Edit:

I cannot believe I ever thought this was cool to watch. Ok and I found this on youtube:

The site above is Looks that Kill. Nikki looks to be playing a Mocking Bird there.

I picture Mick Mars more with a Black Gibson Les Paul Custom, as he used this guitar during is prime years with Motley Crue. Mick Mars Strat does not do it for me.

The one person that is over due for a signature strat IMHO is Gary Moore. Aside from being known for playing his Peter Green Les Paul, he also played a 60s Fiest Red Strat exclusively. Now, I think he deserves a signature strat more than Mick Mars.

Listen to Gary Moore's Classic album titled "Victims of the Future". The majority of the tracks were recorded using the 61 Fiest Red Strat. Listen to "Shapes of Things", remake of the Yardbirds classic.

Mars played a lot of guitars through his career. LP's, Warlocks, Barettas and those tasty Kramer Tele's, Hamer Scarabs... Lots of us have a bunch of variety in our collections; no fault of his. He happens to be hot on his strats again and Fender should jump on that instead of giving another obscure artist a sig model.

I picture Gary Moore playing LP's when someone mentions his name. Clapton started out on SG's. There is nobody who has been a franchise player so to speak.

Actually, Clapton started out with telecasters during the early periods of his professional years with the yardbirds. He then started using les pauls with John Mayall bluesbreakers. Not until he was with Cream he started using the SG along with the 335. He was also using Gibson firebirds around this time. It was during blind faith he started using Fenders again around 1970s, Blackie strat was born using various strat parts.

Gary Moore has been in the business for a long time, and played many guitars over the years. If you have seen Gary Moore with Thin Lizzy, he often switched guitars between his Famous Peter Green Les Paul and the 61 Fiesta Red Strat. He continued to use these guitars alternately during his solo career also. This is why I believe Gary Moore deserve a Strat sig over Mick Mars.

I said NO. But thats because I have never heard of him.
I don't think John Mayer is a spectacular guitarist by any regard. So he probably should'nt have one either, but it is in high demand and therefore was a smart move by fender.

Moore already has a Les Paul sig model. I know some people like Jeff Beck have both, but I that is more the exception than the rule. Moore is much more associated with Les Pauls. In his case, making a sig model might not be the best ides. Just my opinion.
