i dont mind it too much. (head stock satinesque)
my hands are not small but not large.
when i played it one day at the store. it felt like a baseballbat w/ a fretboard. still didnt bother me at all, i could still wrap my fingers around neck.
what is your take on the beefy neck?

I have the 57 hotrod which is thin necked. The neck covering is satin the same as the 62.
I have a baja tele which has a monster neck something like a elongated U rather than a soft V. Couple that with my small hands and its a nice comfort. Very good for low fret chord bashing. I measured it for Doc a few months back so i have em to hand. Its 109mm round at the first fret with 45mm across the fretboard at that point. At the 12th fret its 145mm round with 52mm across the fretboard.
To put that in perspective one soft V to another. The 57 hotrod measures 109mm round and 44mm across the board at the 1st, 128mm round and 51mm across at the 12th.

A couple of mm doesnt sound much but is a huge difference in feel. Compare those two soft V necks. Day and night difference. I'd be interested to find out the 62 hotrod measurements being a C. I think it would bare comparison to my custom classic which has a chunky C.
