Are the pickups in the Rosewood EJ the same as in the Maple?

Yes.

Interestingly, you've really opened up a whole can of worms with this question.

I'm sure EJ would claim to hear the tonal differences among whatever wall socket cover screws he chooses to plug his amps into. So, with something as basic as the tonal differences between maple vs. rosewood fingerboards, which is the REAL Signature Strat he ultimately endorsed? This is clearly food for thought. :?

Hi martian (again)
Thanks (again) for answering another question for me!
Am glad to know the p'ups are the same in the EJRW's as in the Maple models.

RE: EJ's claims to hear things we mere mortal guiatr players cannot...
I never knew any of his whacko tone claims until joining this forum. I'm not an EJ fan at all & never will be but must say that these EJ strats are incredible instruments. Am buying a second one to set up a-la Clapton (blocked tremelo) so I can do special tunings w/o switching guitars.
I LOVE MY '05 EJ STRAT!

Will definately be getting a second one - now need to decide if RW or another Maple...

THANX!

There are alot of myths and superstitions among even well respected musicians regarding tone.Much of it cant really be proven and are really suggestive.I read once that dickey betts claimed weak batteries gave him better tone in the tubescreamers he used. You just take much of it with a grain of salt and you either dig the EJ or not.I happen to like the tone of the Texas Specials , but they arent for everyone.Bottom line is , what pleases your ears.
