I will say this: that Vietnamese bridge has got a GREAT patina!

It must date from no later than 1969 (since that's when Fender introduced that bold curving STRATOCASTER logo on the headstock).

Smoking great detective work there 12B!!!! That looks like it for sure, it is missing the same screws as the OP's. We have same Bloodhounds on this board for sure. I do feel bad for the OP though for getting %^$&.

Oh man, I'm late catching up with this - but ditto to what CV said.

Nice work indeed, Twelvebar! Today's sharp eyes medal winner! 8)

And by the way, if that microscopic thing you're talking about on the Tokai thread is your idea of foot-in-mouth, well, woe betide the rest of us. I make bigger mistakes than that tying my shoe laces in the morning!

Wow I didn't realize that there were so much fake fenders during the 60s from Asia. This could explain why there aren't many asian production workers at the Fender Corona facility. Once, they get the "know how", they may quit and use what they learned and build a better fake Fender.

+1

This thread has become, of late, the primary motivation for me to log on to the forum.

I would think that anyone selling a POS like this to someone under the guise that it was genuine is going to be the last person to refund the victims money.I can't look away from the upcoming trainwreck either. Mike

Well, I hope Vinnypop can recover his investment. And hopefully if the guy isn't cooperative then vinny will at least have an idea of what to tell the police. Although i couldn't imagine making a purchase of this magnatude ithout checking it out thoroughly, what happened to Vinny was fraud plain and simple. A case of enthusiasm outpacing diligence. The person who sold to vinny willfully decieved him, and shouldn't get away with it.

If I can play some small part in helping Vinny and/or helping prevent future fraud then I am very happy to help. In many ways events like this, and a few others, like the guitar Niki was considering, and a few others that proved to be fraudulent show our community to be a helpful brotherhood (and sister hood,) and it's kind of what the internet can be at it's best.

Several of us tried to talk to him when he first posted this but he seemed to take a bad attitude towards us. He even had some bad things to say about us. I wish him well but he should have done some homework before and not come on here with that attitude!
