Thanks for the info Vinni... Your pricing should be close as I would challenge anyone to find a similar strat.

Does anybody honestly think a junk Vietnam Strat might be worth a lot of money because "it would be hard to find another one like it?"

There are plenty of guitars that are rare because no one wants them. The are worthless.

Collector value is a combination of rarity and INTEREST. It has to be something that is both hard to find and worth owning for some reason. This ain't it.

I reckon lonelyboy is cheap at twice the price. I'd happily shell out au$2600 for it. I just cant stand the idea of the import taxes.

Good luck, vinny!

I see the original "Lonely Boy" thread has come back with a vengence.....As Sir Samuel Jackson in Pulp Fiction said: "And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them!"

Go get 'em Vin 8)

Thankyou trauma and strataholic and niki it is rare and has a lot of interest all generated by bad luck and chance which now appears to be working in my favor. Am printing most ebay questions, i have no fear of ridicule what so ever its a 47 year old guitar and any guitar 47 years old that works well is worth at least 1200 bucks. Go Lonely Boy eat them all up hahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahaha rolls eyes insanely like a drugged out Jimmy Hendrix

The first part of that statement is obviously true.

The second half is completely false.

I agree with Slap.

And ... there's no way Lonely Boy was made in 1962! I've said this a few times already: that curved bold STRATOCASTER logo wasn't used by Fender until late 1968. So there's no way Lonely Boy's makers copied it before that time!

I agree, the sreviceman's fakes were jazzmaster knockoffs, but later in the war they decided to switch to Strats, in order to move more. they had all their fake JM bridges left, so they used those. If I were to guess, Vinny's guitar is probably from around 69 or 70, or possibly even much after that. these were made for quite a while in Asia. they have their name because of when they started, and their association with the Vietnam war.

Vinny you are flirting with dishonesty in your ad. You were sucked in by someone else's outright lies. Now you have an ad where you are presenting 'facts' that you have no idea, and no way of verifying, if they are true.

-47 year old guitar, probably not.
- first ever fake strat, how can you support this claim, even your claim of first ever made Vietnam copies is on shaky ground. You can't possibly believe the fraudsters that made this guitar had the integrity to not tamper with the date marks they made on it?
- sounds closer to a 54 strat than even fender's reissues, this is utter nonsense, Vietnam Servicemen's Copies are widely considered to be very poor copies

Vinny I am very disappointed that you are trying to shill this thing on to other people, especially for a mark up. especially with erroneous and misleading claims in your ad.

Sorry guys you may be experts at Fender strats but fakes are totally out of your league. The markings prive its a 61/62 on the neck body and under the vibrato 61. The patina on the vibrato is definately matching the patina of a 47 year old guitar and the serial numbers that were faked on the logo are from 1962 Fender when that issue was released. So I have to sll it for what the identification says and the patina on that MAGNIFICENT vibrato matches the age .. ...I deceive no one its all there its going down and a sale will eventuate soon. Look at the wood that wood degradation and colouring is definately early sixties. I would have to rank as one of the most honest people on this planet and am not desperate to sell Lonely Boy.

I'm confused vinnypop! How do you prove when (what year) a fake was faked? :? It's like proving a double negative.

If their going to fake a guitar they will certainly fake neck heel/pocket markings.

Caused by lower grade material, no doubt.

The simple fact is Vin that they didnt start making those copies until 1967. The logo is a 70's logo (the word stratocaster in bold all black type). I believe that your deceiving yourself before anyone else mate. Its a deceptive guitar and unless the far east had time travel in 61/62 there is no way they could have got that headstock logo at that time. The wood degradation, patina and colouring would all come from using cheap material. The simple fact is they didnt start making them till 67 and that was jazzmasters only. Strats started later.
