Hop, if I'm not mistaken this whole hostage note approach to guitar verification was your idea in the beginning? (The controversial EVH gear pix thread, wasn't it?) :D

I thought a lot of people might be foxed by Gratz's suggestion, so an illustration seemed in order...

Cheers - C

They were the days of the original Jazzmaster and the 70 other guitars wasn't it?  Where do they come from?[/quote

Who knows CV!!!

Hi CV: it was a trainwreck of a thread - but kinda entertaining too, wasn't it?

Do you remember, amongst the guitars the fella claimed to own was this one:

Amazing thing: much later on somebody claiming to be the maker of that guitar (Rick Excellente) turned up on the self same thread! To this day I have no idea if it was the real Mr Excellente or not. If it was, I wish he'd stuck around - but he didn't.

Ah well: it's all good clean fun...

I think theres a whole society full of em. They are let out in groups of 5 or 10 in rotation. They have a quota of BS to fill and aren't fed until the quota is met. I also reckon they get awarded prizes for the biggest fib's. For instance tell 100 people that you own Jimi hendrix's thong and even manage to get a few to believe it makes you play better, win a new TV. Of course everyone knows he went commando, Noel was the thong man in that band. Mitch was undecided but had a penchant for a bra under his lacey shirt.

Did i win that new stereo yet.

VINPOPS claims
1 owns first strat ever-documented
2 his manager is the Beatles first manager
3 he had a deal to sell Sir Paul the strat for 2 million
4 he has a 80 strat
5 on other threads he owns several amps including an AC30
6 believes when he connects his 2 15watt amps together he has a total of 30 watts
7 on and on, clear he knows little and owns little as he will not post anymore pics. Sound familiar CV?
8 almost forgot he is now recording his second album
9 we are forbidden from publishing any of his posts from this site.

Of course I'm not saying that some of the above is not true. :)

I thought anything posted on a internet site becomes public domain or the intellectual property of the site owner/s.

I wish i knew how to slave amps together using the headphone sockets and not overload the front end of the other amp through connecting outputs to inputs. It'd be nice to not have to keep signal splitting. I used a 1 watt marshall belt buckle amp into the effects return of my 100watt jcm once. The words loud and very come to mind.

Isn't that the guitar he claimed was the Jazzmaster proto?
He only showed pictures from the back of the headstock tho.

I wonder where Eddie has gone? He may have been a nutter but he was good for a laugh. Anyone remember the 'Have you ever farted in the soundhole of an acoustic guitar?' thread. Absolute classic thread, that was locked before it could reach its full potential. I was just about to pose the question 'could you hear the wood tone in the rasp? do you think the ebony bridge and bone saddle can alter the sound of the guff?' when it got locked  .

I reckon it would still be running now if allowed to. Why wont he come back, i mean after a thread like that and lying about owning 199 guitars, its not like he's got any shame to be ashamed.

Come back Eddie and rescue us from the current spate of boring nutters with your tall tales and toilet humour.

I'm going to wake up tomorrow and find that this thread never happened......

To be honest, I really think none of this ever happened. We have all be captured by the ramblings of a lunatic.
