Sam is my manager I even signed an agreement with him but that aside I will now reveal the true insides of this vietnam strat.
The pic ups were wrapped in thick brown paper and the bottom had a steele plate as well. The pots said made in Taiwon, the underside of the tremelo had 61 as well as the neck and body which can only mean it was made in 61 and I believe this as the patina on the tremelo suggests 1961 where they then got the 3 serial numbers signifying the 62 neck. Yes I have heard a 54 strat before on youtube and this guitar sounded exactly like a 54 strat and the neck on this thing even though just a hunk of wood with no truss rod was fantastic to play and I am a lead guitarist and love super low action. There were no nail holes to hold guitar up in painting as in all vintage Fenders. And I have never heard a copy strat before and have played a few that ever sounded like a 54 strat and not even Fender today can reproduce the sound of a 54 strat and these Asian people did it in 1961 and when and if I get my 6006 dollars deposited today I am going to ask this man to leave this guitar with me and keep the other 464 dollars he owes me because like I said this guitar sounds exactly like a 54 strat. The special wrapping around pic ups and whatever wrapping technique they have used has exactly reproduced the sound and I want to keep this novelty guitar but its up to him.

I would say its about time to take a piece of white paper write HI CERI on it ,weave it through the strings of said guitar and take a picture ,then post it here on this thread. Its easy im sure vinnypop will figure it out .writing HI CERI in vietnamesse is also acceptable

well make a sound clip or video and show me what a 54 sounds like then record your fake copy...

the question is are you going to buy a real fender?
if you ask me i would take the $464 and just get a MIM or MIJ ..
but for me its MIA or nothing...

now in days theres knock off of everything even cars
so i guess if you dont get a real fender that would be the same as you posting on a ferrari forum and you having a copy car and asking questions of
the engine ....while you have a pontiac v6 engine

So how does a 54 strat differentiate tonally from a 55, 57, 59, 62, or 64?
My 57 ri sounds just like a 54 ri.

This is getting farcical

On vintage instruments (if you have ever played several to compare) there can be QUITE a difference. this is largely due to the inconsistancy in windings, magnet heights, and other factors. I've played two '55s and there were some differences in tonal range, and distorted sounds with the exact same pedals and settings.

I see that as sort of ignorant, Niki (no offense).

Vinny, if you get all the money back, I suggest contacting the Custom Shop and ordering a custom made guitar for you. for 6500, you could be getting Masterbuilt-quality stuff.

the way you do so is by filling out a custom order form at your local custom shop dealer, if you don't like any of the models they are making this year (or contact fender online and they could fax or email a copy to you)

a 54 strat has a 20 percent purer cleaner sound than later fifty models. I do own a 1980 standard maple strart 1 year before the Dan Smith model and was selling it to pay for this one but now I have deleted it from ebay.

Hey I thought that was the Pick of Loki, the Viking God of Mischief. Don't pay the 6500 for that, it will doom us all. That pick can only pass freely from one owner to another without payment, otherwise the end of the world will happen.

thanks for that chanman and hello HI Ceri what does that mean is it a joke I deserve all jokes I suppose. Yes a cutom shop is probably the next best thing to a vintage fender which most of us cant afford ide be really careful of that 58 uk guitar for 7k pounds still thats a bit cheap and must have heaps of mods on it. My eighty strat has the 79 neck only 10k were made its one piece maple and the body is totally authentic standard on this one I did check everything inside so its made up of 2 guitars the neck was made in march 80 so it really is an authentic 1980 fender withs pots and body EOxxxxxx its a nice guitar thank God I never sold it the first 5000 has just been deposited am waiting for the rest he reckons in a few hours as his limit has been reached.

isnt it funny how vinnypop comes up with all his facts but doesnt have anything to back it up?

when will you receive you 1980 strat from Ebay?

So far so good. Glad you did not get rid of that other Strat on E-bay. That would have sucked.
