I don't expect he's had that many wives. :P But the OP begs the question. Might as well inquire as to what one looks for in a significant other. You'll get as many opinions and some you thought about but regretted confirmation thereof. 8) 8)

I tried Lace, SD, and Fenders. The CS 54's sounded like poopy in my '04 classic strat. They sound great in my '89 Standard. I like the sound of the original pickups in the Classic. (more vintage)

This thread is actually working out well i never heard of the Bare knuckle pups before ..But have since gone and checked them out they have some very intriguing pups..
As the OP i forgot to include my top choices...
#1 John Suhr V60's i rank both the V60's and V60LP's together..They do have slightly different tones but it is very hard to decide which i like better..
#2 Again a Toss up between the Fralin Blues specials and the Fralin V54's
#3 The Strat Ultra Lace Sensor Red/Silver Dually with the silver in the mid and blue in the neck
Honorable mention would be the Lonestar Strats Pearly gate bridge humbucker with the neck and mid Texas specials..I think this is an excellent pick up set for an extremely well priced guitar..

One of the posters refereed to Big dipper pups is this a nickname for a type pup or an actually proper pickup name ?

The only reference I have to "Big Dipper" pickups is via John Mayer. These are described as scooped mid range, wound such that the highs and low are emphazied. The source of the term cited remains a mystery to me as well.

Perhaps we'll find Chanman in here for the skinny on it.
