I would say Fender has a great marketing department. This company has penetrated the market at every price point, which increases the chances that players will end up buying more than one Fender in their lifetime. The flip side is that you can buy $100 strats at Costco because the market is so saturated with them. I am not sure that this strategy translates into loyal customers. I would say that if you make 10 times as many units as every other company, you are bound to have repeat buyers. Fender is no different from Gibson in the respect that you still have to spend a butt load of $$ to get a good quality unit. They just make a bunch more.

Finished? I choose to believe that he never actually landed. He just soared off into the clouds never to be seen or heard again.

I believe the original question is does fender have more loyal
supporters i think so because once you have played a
good quality fender you get hooked they make it seem
fun to play with my gibsons when i would practice it seemed more like
work but i keep the tele by my bed and and play (unplugged )
every night till i go to sleep and first thing in the morning
fender made it fun to play for me(personally) and that is what hooks you

I don't think i can buy into this Strats are cheaper thing...An Epiphone cost the same as an MIM Strat..As far as cheap goes my 68 has been appraised at $12,000 ..Thank God i bought it in 81 for $450 which is exactly 150 more than i paid for my first car 2 years later..Im not a 100% sure but i don't think $12,000 is cheap unless your Bill Gates or Donald Trump..

I tend to agree: Fender seems to have more devout loyalists than any other brand I'm aware of.

My own reasons for adoring Fender instruments and, as a consequence, spending time here, stem from the nature of the corporation as well as the quality of its instruments. I find the Fender story -- the history, if you will -- to be much more compelling than that of Gibson or Martin or any other manufacturer. Leo Fender is responsible for the vast majority of modern music as we know it; without him, we'd there might not be rock'n'roll or any other related form of music. And to own a Fender is to participate and propagate the man's ideas.

Plus most Fenders look badass and play very well. That too might be reason enough.

Hahaha - I'm afraid there's far to much evidence that never happened! Heard of all too much...

But yes, support of all kinds was vital for those shots. Including the support of a good medical team after. These knee joints ain't what they used to be... :(

I learned a great and profound truth concerning MIM, MIA and MIJ Strats. Sadly, I was sworn to secrecy. My lips are sealed...

Seems wise to seal that up. The world couldn't handle that truth.

The brands I have the most of are Ibanez & Granada-with two each--Granada is a house brand used by various music schools in Canada & perhaps elsewhere--they were made in Japan by Matsumoku (Mostly known for Arias) At least that's where mine were made.

How old are those Granadas? Can you post any pictures?

They're mid 70's-A Les Paul copy and an EB-3 copy. My parents bought them for me when I was taking lessons.
Here they are together-

I've started accumulating parts to fix up the LP--it needs a new nut and I want better pickups in it--I'll be setting it up for slide/open tuning.
