The 07 could be the year
and the 06 could be the month

The 8873rd made in june 2007.

Hey marymurrah,

I have the same guitar by the way. I sent my serial number to Fender customer support via an email to ask the same question because there wasnt anything that I could find on Korean lite ash strats.

They said the only numbers that mean anything are the first two. So yours was made in 2007. After that, the numbers are meaning less. Mine is a 2004. By the way, these were made from 2004 and was discontinued in 2008. That was also what Fender told me. To bad because they are great guitars!

Not sure if any more accurate, but I was using the CORT serial number dating system since it seems that they were making a lot of the Korean Fenders.
