I am looking at picking one up but can't find out any details. Is it a deluxe model, a standard, or what? s/n: Z1015638, so it's a 2001 model.

Can anyone help?

I bought one in 2001. The full title is Hot-Rodded American Fat Strat Texas Special. It had Fender Texas Special pickups at the neck and middle, and a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucker at the bridge. Staggered tuners. Otherwise it was essentially an American Standard. It is no longer in production. I recently replaced all of the pickups and wiring harness because I fundamentally didn't like the way it sounded. The pickups were just too hot for me.

But it is rated well at Harmony Central. You just have to like the strong pickups.

It sounds like you have the "American Strat Texas Special."

You will find a lot of info on it at this page:

American Texas Specials were availiable as 3 single coils or a a Fat strat with one Humbucker and also as a double Fat Strat with two Humbuckers. The humbuckers were Seymmour duncans the single coils were used are Amer. Texas Specials.
