Awful poll...

People out there actually PREFER Mexican to American. Seems a bit diehard, but I know a few.

YES, they are.

Why don't you just play one and find out? I plan on buying a MIM Telecaster soon.

I've got 2, one hss and one sss, and they are FANTASTIC! The hss, I bought at GC after trying out several. The sss I bought online, and it is great as well.

I've also got a VG, and I love it also. Being the owner of MIMs and a USA, I can honestly give a vote of YES, absolutely!

I think now, Mexican made Fender instruments are made much better than they were a few years ago. I'm even impressed with the QC and setup of the current Mexican made instruments. I just purchased a roadworn strat and it played great right off the rack.

I think most of those that do prefer MIM over MIA is mostly because they prefer the "old school" configuration (21 frets, vintage trem, standard tone controls, etc.). Just a thought...

I played both MIMs and MIAs and the new MIMs play great now. Plus I prefer the classic look (vintage trem, etc) without paying for a Classic Series. You can always upgrade parts like pickups, pots, pickguards, etc when you want and have some time and money.

I prefer the MIMs over the MIAs for all the reasons mentioned plus the MIMs feel a lot more like traditional Strats. And still to this day, no one has come up with any bonafide proof that the MIMs QC is inferior to the MIA stuff. I also appreciate the more realistic price tag of the MIMs as I personally feel the MIAs are simply not worth the money.

The poll is kinda... meh.

Even if you like the Americans over the MIMs, Yes the MIMs are good guitars and worth the money. Maybe less so now that the price made those two jumps back to back, but still a good value. The American vs. Mexican responses don't really address the initial poll.

Where they are made is immaterial.
Just make sure you get one with a black finish. Black guitars have better tone than most other finishes. Sunburst colors also sound great but not quite as good as black. :P

Of course they're "good". They wouldn't sell so many of them and have a great following if they weren't "good".

How good, depends on what you want and what you like, and what's "good" for you.

Poll is too vague. Like asking "Should I eat vegetables?", "Do guitar strings breaks?", "Should I cut my fingernails?"
