So I finally got me a Strat. It's a '99 MIM Standard, antique white with a grungy rosewood fretboard. There are a couple dings and scratches, and needs some tlc, but she's a great player. P/u's are GFS Premium Anlico and they sound terrific. She'll be stripped down and given a good cleaning this weekend. Anyway, here are the pics of my dirty new (old) Strat. Sorry, that middle one is a little fuzzy.

Thanks. I love it. Plays so much better than My Epi LP and sounds much better too. I guess I'm just a single coil type of guy.

Congrats. That looks identical to my strat when it was new. It's gone through a few finishes in the past 7 years, first white, then gold, then black and now it's a worn out 2-tone burst.

Those pics bring back alot of memories. It's funny how you can change the finish and it seems like you have a totally different guitar.

I love the white. But I may change the p/g to tortoise shell. Dunno yet.

i had that exact strat except it was a 2006. it was a good guitar. i sold it recently to buy my classic players 60s, but i sometimes miss it. lots of memory and i personally dont have anything against the strats made in mexico they are good guitars! and they will last if you take care of it. the guitar has some dings but i dont think that should effect the sound.

Congrats and welcome. The white tends to turn a buttery yellow over time.

My first Fender Strat came today! I have a Squier Strat and that's actually what turned me on to Fender- loved the Squier so much I had to have the real McCoy! Got this on EBay and actually didn't think I was going to win the bid- but I did and for a few hundred less than the normal street price. Serial number has it as a MIM from 2002/2003 and it still had the plastic on it :)
I hope this picture makes it through.

I love the natural finish. Is that an ash body?

Hey DY; yes that is ash- very light, I'm used to LP's -when it came yesterday it almost felt like there was no guitar in the case :) the only thing I might change eventually is the pickguard- I think it would look sweet with white pearl instead of plain white. And grats on your axe- she's a beauty. :D
