Thanks for the compliments guys. As for the ironing board.. it may sound retarded but I use that thing for all my string changes, setups, pickup installs, cleaning, etc. It's the perfect height and is easy to get at the guitar from any angle. Plus here in South Florida it's too damn hot to do this stuff in the garage. Heck i would work on my car in the house if I could :) As for the stock nut are the new MIM's bone? I know the older ones were, but this one looks and feels like cheap plastic. Plus the strings hang up in it and make awful creaking noises when using the trem. That is the main reason I'm changing it. If it is real bone I may just open the slots a bit and lube it with some graphite.

I placed my order for a new Mexican sunburst strat last week. Store was out of stock so they placed an order with Fender and said it will take 6 weeks.

I can't think of a better use for it. Ironing clothes would be the last thing I'd use it for. :D

Well the mods have begun. I said I would wait til the tuners arrived but got bored when I got home from work and figured I would get everything done, but the tuners for now and hope they arrive tommorrow. I also have to solder the jack and ground in as I have to borrow my buddies soldering iron. So right now I am just three soldered wires, a tuner install and a setup away from tone city. Here are the pics.

Definately like the look of the white pickguard, pickups and knobs better than the original parchment stuff. Looks very Jimi'ish. Will post more pics and my impressions very soon once I get it done.
Just waiting on something to fill these holes

That's awesome man! I love the Olympic white and a maple neck. I just recently got a 1962 Stat, 3 color sunburst, and a rosewood neck. :D Definitly can't go wrong with any Strat. Enjoy. :D

You did it up right..It is exactly what i did on my MIM that i bought last fall except i went with the John Suhr V60's and a true bone nut..I even have the same color..It was a very close decision between the Fralin Blues specials and the John Suhr V60'S ..Until i walked into a trade on the V60's for a delay pedal that i never used anyway..Welcome to a whole new world of tone ..You will never regret it...Those Blues Fralin's are excellent pups and will just give you a wall of vintage blues tone

Well the tuners showed up a couple of hours ago. So I got it all put back together and set up. Playing it for about a half and hour so far and LOVE it. The pickups are awesome. Sweetest clean tones ever and that is through a 5150. I can only imagine what it would sound like through a Fender tube amp. Dirty it sounds great as well. Really liking the Fralins a lot. Here are the pics of it getting wrapped up.
