Mike won't spill anything, nor does the Custom Shop have any control over the pricing.

It was hinted that the official announcement will be made at Winter NAMM

(Since Fender AND Gibson were absent from NAMM last week, as usual)

here is a pricing estimate based on the current known specs, and included extras and/or case candy of TBO:

high 3k to high 4k.

take it ONLY AS A EDUCATIONAL ASSUMPTION.

Is that estimate for one of the 83 or for the more cost efficient model? Thanks

the relic. the NOS (as you call 'the cost-efficient' model, will be about the same price as the regular signature model.

Wow so the 83 and the cost efficient one's are going to be around the same price. John said that he wanted them to make a balls out dead on version and blurbed out the number 6000 for it and then acted like the other one's would be close but affordable. That's interesting either way I want one so it doesn't matter I am sure I will pay the money. Do you know what you need to do to get on the list for one of the 83? Thanks for all the feedback guys it's great. I am really excited about this if you guys couldn't already tell LOL

well, seeing as I got my name on the list about 2 months back, I'd say you might be too late.

check with trusted FCS dealers like Wildwood guitars (where I put my name down),

Dave's Guitars,

Wild West Guitars,

Eddie's Guitars.

I don't consider John's video very informative. consult our thread in that link I posted.

:P :P :P :P :P :P :P : Chanman....it's like our minds were linked. After all that yadayada on the other thread I said to myself..."Wouldn't it be just like Wildwood to get the lion's share of the 83, like they appeared to have cornered the market on the first 500 Gilmours."

So the million dollar question is how Fender is going to apportion this and what is the real skinny on the process, because Mike hasn't and likely won't say further. Though you may on a so called 'list' who are the dealers most likely to get an allotment.

Not everyone is inside like us, with something more than general knowledge. Can you imagine someone inquiring of a dealer after general release, to find out that all 83 are spoken for? Personally, something like that would really bother me.

Perhaps a lottery on this one is in order. You put you money down in good faith and, if your number fails to hit, you are refunded.

.

The project interests me only from the nature of the scope. As a result, I would not put myself in contention for one of the 83 with so many ardent fans out there jockeying position for one. The guitar that piques my interest is the coming LE Clapton Gray, but just to buy it for the look???.....I'd sooner refinish my '89 Pewter if the paint could be acquired.
I'm not hung up on the collector value of that guitar. There are so many out there that the dollar value is nominal. I mean, I paid $1850 for that guitar last summer. that's about 120% of the price point 20 years ago but, given inflation, what's the real value? It's only to the buyer, and perhaps the EC gray finish on that guitar might be of interest to some one down the line.

I would go that direction too if I were you Doc. With your unlimited funds you could do both though! :)
EC Gray just does not sound as good as the other name of that color does it? :?
Sorry for straying away from the OP!

Grigio Silverstone may be trademarked by Ferrari and, hence, not usable by Fender. Anyway....EC Gray is more marketable. On the other, the Lace Sensors are my preference and I see no distinct advantage to JUST having another Clapton, LE notwithstanding.
