Very Nice and Great Photos.

Those bridge saddles you have on the guitar, how do they affect the tone?

Thanks! I just bought the guitar new so the bridge saddles are original. (Based on the serial number, the guitar was manufactured in 2005, though I don't think the specs on the Am Deluxe have changed since then. I found it at a small local shop on "clearance" sale!) So, I don't know how the saddles compare to any others but I can tell you the guitar definitely isn't lacking in sustain.... :D

You know, when I first saw it in the store, I wasn't sure about the color... Plus, at the time, I was leaning toward getting a guitar with a maple neck. I made the "mistake" of trying it out, though, and it just seemed to be the one. The clincher was the price and the layaway option... this was right after the new prices were in effect and I didn't think I'd be able to get an Am Std, much less an Am Deluxe.

Looks-wise, I thought it had that "gotcha" factor -- black, gold flecks, chrome hardware, rosewood neck, it just had that "Strat on steroids, "modern" Strat" kinda look to me... Sound-wise, I couldn't be any happier - humbucker, SCN's, and S1 switching, I'm lovin' this combination...

I know that feeling. I had my heart set on an olympic white MIA with maple and I played the one in stock with rosewood and it called out to me and I took her home. Haven't regretted it. Great pictures by the way.

Hey thanks, Invader... Like I said earlier in this thread, I didn't start out looking for an Am Deluxe -- but catching it on clearance with all those features, well I couldn't resist. I'm extremely happy with it but I worry about it getting dinged up since I take it to lessons every week. I know that's probably silly and I'll get over it... I'm sure not gonna let it sit in the case...
