Post subject: strat wire for components

Hello ,i was wanting to rewire my guitar and was wondering what wire
is used for the pots and switch or what might be the best wiring.i was thinking
it was just 20 gauge wire.thx fret

Welcome!

The 20 gauge is fine, especially if you use the cloth insulated type which will give your wiring that vintage spec and look.

If you go with the cloth wire, you simply cut it to size and push back the cloth; no stripping is required.

ive also seen were they use braid shield coax from the input to the volume
control.do you know what kind? and if its something you can get at a local electronics store? i app. the reply's

Even if i don't plan to buy from them I check out the Stew-mac site. Then you can see what they use, and try to source locally.
