Hi FredeJyllMusic: my, it's easy to type your username wrong, isn't it?

Anyway: as a matter of fact, I recall that someone here tried that 'guard on a sienna Strat and posted a picture in this Forum. Was it in the "Pictures of Your Strat" thread? Can't remember. Search long and hard enough through these pages and you'll find it.

I'm afraid I'm not going to make that search for you. I have more important things to do - there's some drying paint that needs watching...

Cheers - C

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...But I'm not a fan of tortoise shell pickguards on any Strat. I'm sure there are exceptions but I haven't seen one yet.

OMG that looks awesome. If Siennaburst is in the current Fender catalogue, I'm on it!

That does look pretty good.

OK, this is definitely a fake - don't buy it. Look at the middle pickup: it's too far towards the neck. And I'm seeing a modern string tree but vintage tuners and an eight hole pickguard. Wrong! And a 22 fret neck with a six screw bridge...

And $300 for a new MIA? Deeply dodgy!

An obvious partsacaster. I dunno: how do people think they are going to get away with it?

...Just thought it shouldn't always be Orvilleowner who has to be the one to cry "fake". Give the guy a break!

I never like the tortoise shell either. However, I went in to the guitar shop to pick up a pickguard for an american tele, blonde, maple. It had a white pg, and I wanted something flashy, since the guitar was so plain looking. After putting every genuine fender color variation, I left with the tortiose shell, and it is so elegant looking now.
My brother has an 08 american strat, in sienna sunburst. It is a great color. Possibly my favorite fender has right now. After close comparison, I noticed the sienna comes with aged white pickgaurd, knobs, pup covers etc. I think tortoise is the way to go on that one if you must change it, But I think that sunburst is so eyecatching, that you almost need that solid pg.
Good luck with your new axe.
Is it the maple or rosewood fretboard? If maple, is it the glossed/laquered maple neck?
Take care
Jason
