Can anyone tell me the best cleaning agent to clean the neck of my Eric Johnson Strat?

Fender has some great products...you should check them out. people I know always give the neck a very good cleaning when they change strings.

A little lemon oil after wiping with a dry cloth works wonders.

I try not to use lemon oil on the nitro of my EJ. From what I've read, it can damage the finish. I use Dunlop 65, it has a high water content, won't damage the wood or finish, it's pretty cheap, and you can use it on the body as well.

Another vote for the Dunlop 65 lemon oil. One $5 bottle could last a lifetime.

...also.....I use Finger Ease spray which helps to condition the fretboard too.

Didn't your EJ come with Meguire's Mist and Wipe? Works great.

Sorry if I caused any confusion- I refuse to use lemon oil on my EJ, for fear of what it can do to a nitro finished maple neck. The Dunlop 65 that I use is the spray on cleaner. No oil, super safe, does a great job.

I've been using the Dunlop 65 spray, it seems to work well.
So another vote for it :)

I also used to use a product called fast-fret on my cheap-o-guitars.
I'm not sure what exactly is in it, so have not tried it on the Strat.

I used fast fret for my cheaper guitars as well, and I called guitar center to find out whether it was safe for my EJ. According to them, there is nothing in fast fret that could harm the finish or the wood. I've used it many times on my EJ strings/frets with great results.

I alway's use Fast Fret, on all my guitars, with no problem,
But i do use lemon oil twice a year, to get the grim of sweat, and the build up of fast fret off,
You shouldnt use the lemon oil too much imo.
