Did I do good?? I just got me a Fender Roadworn Strat in Olympic white from my local GC for $599 out the door with deluxe gig bag. Its not used or a blemished item, it is a spanking new guitar. I was there to get me some pack of strings during my lunch break and went back to work with my pack of strings and a new guitar

I've been eyeing this road worn strat for awhile online. Beautiful catch you got there and the price...sweet! :D Best lunch break ever!

MF has the RW at regular price on thier site. The 599 deal is a "call in phone sale". You must place your order by phone to get the 599 deal. Your local GC can match that price, just ask the sales man to call MF and verify the 599 deal which ends on July 26. Get them while you can at this low price, actually I think the 599 price is a fair price and should be the regular price for the RW IMHO.

 Whoa...is this phone sale still on? If so, is there a sales word or something I need to say, etc.? 8)

Great, now I have to go sell a Peavey Amp, a Jekyll and Hyde, and a multi effects board.

Seriously though, I might do it. I tried a 60s Strat that I really liked, and I won't be able to afford a Custom Shop Strat for quite some time. Before I sell anything I'm going to try a few Custom Shop Strats, if I like them enough I bet I could muster the will power to wait.

You made a killing, man. Nice. Pretty guitar, too.

How do you like those Tex Mex pups?
So far I like them alot. They have a nice tone them, a bit of a mid boost, but the same time has that bell like chime. Very similar to texas specials, but not quite. I'm keeping the tex mex, in fact I'm keeping this guitar bone stock. I like it the way it is.

UPDATE:

Well, looks like Fender got mad at Musician's Friend selling the road worns for $599. Now MF just pulled the price. I just found this out this morning when a friend called MF for the $599 deal, and was informed of Fender demanding MF to stop selling the roadworns for $599. Well, good deals don't last forever

Too bad I was about to call MF after seeing this thread yesterday... on the other hand it's not quite like I needed another electric ;-)

It seems that the $699 price for Road Worns has left all of the internet retailers (at least the big ones I checked).

Hhehehe!! I'm loving this roadworn strat....haven't put it down since I got it. Hheheh....you were really studying the receipt aye???

Yea, Fender probably saw the pics of my post and called MF right away and made MF pull the sales price of $599.
